Week #38 - Interviews, Firesides & Transfers

Hello Everyone!

This week has definitely been a CRAZY one!  But first, one miracle this week happened  on Saturday night.  It's been kind of a rough week ... we both weren't feeling our best, an ear infection for me and Sister Bates' stomach, but we committed to find 6 new investigators to the APs and we knew if we had the faith we could find them!  On Saturday, we did a blitz with the Sam Houston Sisters and tracted a whole neighborhood during finding time ... and FOUND 6 new investigators including two families!! We are so excited and we know it was all because of the Lord that we were able to find His prepared people!

Chris is still set for Sunday for his Baptism, and Nancy and Carlos came to church together!  We introduced them to the Spanish elders and felt like Carlos would benefit from them but Nancy needs to be in the English Ward.  We are going to see if we can team teach them because Carlos is home more often during the week but Nancy is home during the weekends.  The Ward has really been fellowshipping them so well and we have at least one member reach out to them almost daily!  We are continuing to find more people who are prepared and I am just so excited to see the miracles!

Tuesday, we had interviews with President!  Wow, talk about a spiritual high!  I respect him so much and you can feel the power behind him when he speaks to you.  He told me he is so proud of me and how much he loves me.  It was seriously the best 30 minutes of my life.  He gave me some suggestions with working with the Ward, but he also told me I would be training again sooN!  I won't know until tonight but yes, it was such a wonderful experience.

Wednesday, crazy as always with volunteering at the Christian Thrift store!

VOLUNTEERING
Thursday was planning, and Friday was just a great day as well!

LAST DISTRICT MEETING AND PHOTO BEFORE TRANSFERS
Sunday was the Fireside our Mission President puts on every month for a different stake each time and this month it was for our stake!  I sang in a quartet with two elders from my zone and Sis Bates!  We practiced our song like 20 times through this last week and the week before but it all paid off because the spirit was so strong as we performed!  I have a video but I'm not sure if it's going to send ... but I have pictures!

We also sang with the mission choir "AS SISTERS IN ZION/ARMY OF HELAMAN."  Great fun!

AFTER THE FIRESIDE WITH CINDY!
Sister Bates is being transferred ... :(  I'm going to miss her so much!  This week is going to be another crazy one!  But love y'all so much and remember to share the word!

Have a great week!

Love,
Sister Pinster

Week #37 - Fun with the Hermanas!

Hey Y'all!

Well today we went to the mall and had a fun day with the Hermanas, so here is a quick email to send my love and appreciation! :)

FUN DAY WITH LAS HERMANAS!

This week has been one to remember and I'll quickly write a few things about the week!

Okay, so miracles all over this week!  But ... one of the former investigator families has found the gospel again and we are planning on setting a date with them this week!!  The members have adopted them, Carlos and Nancy, and their Fellowshippers are making daily contact with them for us.  It's so amazing!  The members are truly becoming missionary minded and the Bishop has really helped with it.  Yay!  We are just so Excited!

Chris is doing amazing!  He's basically like a "dry Mormon" and we started doing his family history with him and he is so excited to take the names to the temple.  He is set for January 31st.  We also have Nancy and Carlos, and then a couple new promising new investigators this week.

Okay, so I'm doing great--well I have an ear infection but all is well because I am on antibiotics now! :)  Sister Bates and I are having a great time and are always looking for ways to become better.  I have noticed some times it's easier to just be content and look at only positive things, but truly it's when we realize there is room for improvement when change and miracles come!

It's a great blessing to serve in the Texas Houston Mission and to be able to be challenged to stretch higher and reach farther!

Thanks for all you do everyone, and I hope y'all have a great week!

Love,
Sister Pinster

Here is a beautiful picture of the Houston Temple.
Obviously I didn't take it, but wanted to share it with you guys!

Week #36 - HALF WAY -- NO WAY!!!! Plus a Challenge!

Hey Y'all!

It's unreal for me to say I've been on a mission for 9 months.  Time flies waaaaay to fast!
SISTER BATES AND SISTER PINSTER

This week we were able to see lots of miracles, but one of them happened while we were teaching the new way of teaching the Restoration with a new way of Prophets and the Book of Mormon from MLC / Zone Meeting.  Our investigators Grace, Lulu and Joe were able to  completely see the connection between fruits of a prophet and the importance of the Book of Mormon and how it is a fruit of the Prophet Joseph Smith! We have a lesson with them tonight and we are so excited!  They already said yes to baptism and we are planning on setting a date with all three of them this week! I will keep y'all posted on them!

As for the new area, we had to push Chris' baptismal date back until January 31st because our appointments have been falling through, BUT he met with the bishop and confirmed his date for the 31st!  The Ward has been great about fellowshipping him!  We found some solid investigators this week and are making plans to get them to church as well!

I love serving here in Bear Creek because there is just so much to do!  Sister Bates and I get along so well and have fun doing the work!  This time is so precious on a mission and I want to make sure I am using every minute effectively! :)

We have had some fun with dogs this week and I will send some pics!

DOG LOVERS!
Last P-Day we went Lazertagging with some of the Elders and it was soooo much fun!  I have an awesome Zone and District!  But seriously, there are soooo many wonderful things happening and I am excited to help the Lord in His work this week!

Hope all of y'all have a great week as well!

CHALLENGE:

My challenge to y'all is to read the WHOLE Book of Mormon before June! That's my goal and I know each and every one of you guys can do it!

Anyways,
Love y'all!

Love,
Sister Pinster

Week #35 - SO FAR, SO GOOD 2016!

Hello everyone!

I can't believe it's already 2016!  So crazy!

This week has been full of some great times and miracles!  I just can't explain how much fun being a missionary is and how rewarding it is as well.  Yes, it's not easy but it's 100% worth every minute!  It's starting to finally get colder around here!  Yay!  I love the cooler weather and I'm glad New Years was around 60 not 80 like it was for Christmas.  When we were caroling, we were literally sweating ... fun times in Texas. :)

But okay the most exciting news is ... Camille (our Investigator) has a baptismal date for Feb. 13!!!!!!  Whoop whoop!  We are so excited for her and for all of the blessings that will follow!  Chris is still on tract for his date on the 16th!  So many wonderful things are happening in Bear Creek!

Sister Bates is my best friend and I love her so so much!  We probably have too much fun. :)
